In 2020 a small group of individuals set out with an idea to build an event that would celebrate & support the entire Louisville community. This team along with the collaborative efforts of the Louisville Public Schools Foundation and the Louisville Area Foundation developed the blueprints that became “DYNAMITE! Pete Days”.

”DYNAMITE Pete” a.k.a Lev Everett is one of the most colorful characters in Louisville history & his story is as old as Louisville itself. Who better to represent an event that celebrates & supports Louisville’s community spirit than Dynamite Pete.

The first DYNAMITE! Pete Days was held July 24th & 25th, 2021. Thanks to our amazing volunteers, generous corporate sponsors & all those that attend DYNAMITE! Pete Days has become an Annual Event for the entire community to share.

Louisville - a DYNAMITE! place to live, work & visit.‍ ‍

Levi Everett a.k.a. “DYNAMITE Pete” was a slight man that was known for his long hair & beard. He most often wore overalls & was not a fan of shoes or shirts.

Pete worked in the quarry carry explosives in & placing the DYNAMITE for blasting the rocks. Pete lived in a shack built at the entrance of a cave along the Pawnee Creek.

The funds raised by DYNAMITE! Pete DAYS are used to better our community & its organizations!
